Maybe you just left yourself open to tactics? My opponents and I both make enough errors for me to be fairly sure neither are cheating, especially at our level.
Online chess waste of time
Agree that not everyone is cheating but the temptation for some is too much and therefore tournaments and ratings are pointless without effective monitoring

I was playing a lower rated player (200 below than mine) against me in this Online Chess and I lost so badly. I didn't lose on blunders, we're having a drawish position and then a low rated player seems better or cheating on me?
My head ache because of thinking a move up to 2-3 hours while this player only spent atleast 10 minutes or less.

Perhaps you're just better at quick chess than deep chess. I hang a piece pretty much every game and have the same online rating as you.

It seems pretty unlikely that someone rated 1650 is cheating. I also think it is absurd for you to decide someone is cheating based on how they are playing. When I am struggling to formulate a plan, my play feels passive to me, and my moves are probably not so great. Then when I find a weakness to latch onto and am able to start working out tactical ideas I feel like I come alive. I can spend a lot more time calculating variations and suddenly my moves have purpose.
I think accusations of cheating are far more widespread than cheating itself.

Have the same rating on what? Online chess?

it may be true that some people jump to conclusions all too fast, but it is real problem and shouldn't be downplayed too much either. it really does grow in magnitude as you ascend the rating ladder.
And everyone's comments have been about the level of player he will be facing. If someone 2000+ was complaining I wouldn't have posted.

well not for nothing, sometimes you do actually get people rated between 1600-2000 who suddenly discover houdini and decide to join the dark side. although rare I'm sure it happens sometimes.
Sure, but if they're any good at cheating their rating will quickly improve.

We provide tools to report cheating to our staff. But having several constant and redundant threads on the topic that circulate with the same questions and comments over and over again isn't helpful, and instead causes people to worry more than they need to. If you want to discuss cheating, please do it in this group

I play blitz/bullet chess most of the time and do ok but having tried online chess recently it confirmed my suspicions. The guy I was playing rated 1650 went from bland defensive to ultra decisive after about 8 moves. What's to stop your correspondent player from consulting every chess tactic trainer/software/ GM friend! during the 3 days he/she has to move? I'm sticking to Blitz... sorry.
