Open Invites - Online Chess

Having cut down on the number of games I play in team challenges (mainly becoz I have cut down the number of teams I belong to), and although I can play with friends (and do), I find I am resorting again more to taking up Open Invites to satisify my interest in 3 day online chess.

Being the sort of person I am (read into that what you will), I like to check out opponents who put up a challenge e.g. profile (I like to see an avatar and description), games history, and online record details like average time to make moves, percentage time outs, before deciding whether or not to accept the challenge.

I do this because I see chess as a social occasion and playing with interesting people who are good sports and who play timely moves is an important factor for me (not that the above checks can guarantee this - but it often does help).

However, despite doing the above checks quickly, I find challenges tend to get taken up by someone else while I'm working out if the person is someone I might like to play - net result is more often than not  I miss out!

Not sure who else has this experience or can empathise with me or if you are 300 eiher side of my rating player and think you may be the sort of person who I might like to play then why not challenge me?

Try accepting the challenge quickly, then doing your checks and abort the game before you make a move, if you don't like what you see.

I think if you click on a challenge it brings you to a window that you can look at that stuff.  Then from there you can accept or decline.  That way it won't disappear until you accept or decline it.
