Anyway it's like a language student asking which they should learn nouns or verbs. A new sports player asking if they should strengthen their upper or lower body. An art student wondering if they should learn to draw a straight line or a curved line.
If you want to be any good, you need to learn all the basics. This includes time spent studying openings as well as endgames. "Which is more useful" isn't a useful question. Any time you learn one of the elements, it not only strengthens your play there, but your whole game.
