otb practice suggestion

i was wondering what people think about the following idea for lower level players who are still learning: playing otb practice games backwards. that is, playing as white with the black pieces in front of you or vice versa.

i think this would be beneficial for a few reasons: it might help one to see the opponent's plans and threats easier as well as their weaknesses in their defenses; it might help with board vision in general. any comments or negatives to this approach?

I think any method of practicing that makes you look at the game from a different perspective is good, this one included. Laughing

I think it's a good idea, I thought about it once but Im not sure what effect it's goign to have on the player. maybe someone more knowledgeable can give better input
