OTB vs online play

i love playing on chess.com and i feel i play ok however if you compared my play over the board to online you would see a significant difference. it's like when i'm playing on a chess board someones extracted my brain and replaced it with a brain of a much better chess player.

is this normal? if so why?

nope i find OTB chess more important than online. so i'll keep my brains the way they are.

Are you speaking of tournament otb games or otb casual games? Otb casual games are easier to play for me too. Tournament games are definitely demanding.

both. the board just makes it easier but i don't know why.

Well, you might as well say, why is one one person different to somebody else. What's your eyesight like ? short/long/20-20 ?

Of course, we'd need to do a survey of many people...

I notice that OTB in an intense game, players often, to the annoyance of their opponent, position themselves directly over the board - perhaps seeking a more 2D perspective...
