OTB vs online play

i love playing on chess.com and i feel i play ok however if you compared my play over the board to online you would see a significant difference. it's like when i'm playing on a chess board someones extracted my brain and replaced it with a brain of a much better chess player.

is this normal? if so why?     

nope i find OTB chess more important than online. so i'll keep my brains the way they are.

An OTB game requires the brain to deal with three dimensions. Online 2D is easier for most of us. One reason why we should analyse with real boards perhaps...

if you find it easier to play online then why do i find it easier to play OTB?

Are you speaking of tournament otb games or otb casual games? Otb casual games are easier to play for me too. Tournament games are definitely demanding.

I notice that OTB in an intense game, players often, to the annoyance of their opponent, position themselves directly over the board - perhaps seeking a more 2D perspective...
