To avoid this in the future you can change your settings to not automatically win on time out. Or some such thing, I've been meaning to do that myself actually.

I tend to have that setting on and only take the win on time if either a) the opponent has taken a week or more since running out of time to log on, or b) if it's in a tournament. I think if you're in a tournament and you let time run out it's fair game.
On a side note, all my mother's side is from Clydebank and I grew up down the road in Milngavie :D
Hi, Iam a new member still finding my feet and have just won a game through my opponent running out of time, i have issued a rematch with him as i feel this is only fair, the game had only just begun. I would like to improve my rating by winning, or have it adjusted honestly by a loss as i would have gained experience.
