Do you mean a position like this? It depends where the kings are. For the purposes of this game, I decided the kings couldn't move.

Yeah, after thinking about it some more, that's almost certainly not the position he was talking about. Let's try this again.
You could either try a4-a5 or a3-b4.

I suppose if you dislodge the Rook, you can then start picking on the pawn.
How about moving that white-squared Bishop to e2 and then f3?
Though to be honest, this position looks pretty trashed.
Hmm... if you could somehow get your bishop to c7 and your rook to a1, you could play Bxb6, and he couldn't play axb6 because it would expose his rook. Of course, that assumes that he doesn't have anything else protecting either the pawn or the rook.
The other obvious option is to get the knight to c6 and the rook to a1, to double attack the pawn. How you get there from that position, though, is less obvious. Black is winning.
