My main problems with bullet and blitz are two: 1) the other guy's clock hardly runs at all while mine speeds; when I am obviously moving much faster I don't even bother looking at the clock because it is obvious that I am moving way faster than the opponent (like 2X or 3X times)....but then I timeout. 2) the piece I am moving stops at a square in between the square it was at and where I intended and there is no takeback to correct server error. I play Blitz and Bullet anyways because I enjoy them...guess you just should not get hung up on ratings in internet chess because they are somewhat meaningless. OTB is all that matters.
People are scamming on my Chess connection, your server is ^*@#ed up!
Most of the terrible losses due to disconnections are blitz games such as the OPs. Little thought and even less effort have been wasted. If it's happening on a regular basis, it's probably not chess.com's fault unless the problem is somewhat universal, which it isn't.
I have had one instance, too long ago to dig up, where I was playing (if memory serves) a 10 minute time control, was playing with loads of time and a mate in X advantage, and was waiting his whole clock for my opponent to move. I had good connection the whole time, and the opponent's clock was counting down. Yet as my opponent's clock was about to expire, suddenly mine did, and I lost on time. I never understood what happened, and it has never happened again. So there could be some glitch with the chess.com server that generally flies under the radar.

I would be astonished if occasional glitches didn't occur when one considers all the factors, controllable and uncontrollable, involved in playing a game online. My own reaction would not to be angry when one does occur but to be grateful it doesn't happen more frequently. If it involved losing money, my reaction might be different than one involving losing a 5/0 game of chess.
My goodness there are people being tortured in some dismal cell as we speak, people being trafficked from one continent to another, others simply fighting for survival. (edited, staff, please no name calling)
Hi 000RN, I have messaged you to resolve this.
Most likely, as BatGirl mentioned this is more likely something related to how you are connecting to Chess.com.
2. Their not cheating. Okay? Perhaps it is the server making a mistake or you are genuinely disconeccting, but the chances of them cheating are slim-non existent.
Also, maybe be more civil and people will take you seriously. At the moment I struggle to.
That is not cheating, which can only be discussed here: https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum
Also, if you ever feel your opponent is using unfair assistance, report with a ticket, not a forum post.

Disconnects and lag:
You can read these links from the Moderator: VintagePawn:
As others may have posted, your opponent cannot cause you to disconnect.
The clients never directly talk to each other; the Live server process handles all communications and your opponent can't see your IP/connection details.
You can do some things to decrease the possibility of disconnects and lag on your side.
