People here DO cheat

It has nothing to do with a bad connection.

I had one Canadian guy, and he was losing, kept turning my board to blk & white and blinking the board, in and out, till I couldn't see what was going on at all and my clock fell.

It's silly. Win at all costs? Why play here then?

gtrrobster
Sure. Then he levitated
Charles008

My computer was blinking back & forth, in and out, black to white, till finally I was disconnected out.

That's not chess.

Charles008

No my friend, no. I'm not making this up. The minute the match was over the entire condition, stopped. I would never kid you, Mr. Robster.

AutisticCath

Why wait until you're losing to pull out that special power? Sore loser you are.

baddogno

Them damn Canucks.  Bad enough they keep sending us cold weather, but now they're messing with chess?  John Candy was right, let's invade 'em!

Jajakilroy

Are you sure you don't live near chuck norris. I know everything dies when it it gets touched by him. Perhaps being near him your computer was having difficulties surviving. :D

Charles008

All of you are very kind to make a joke about it. I think some users have the ability to hack. Is that so unreasonable?

chessplayer0852

Yes, people here do cheat, I've never heard of what you're describing though.

Charles008

Is it possible for someone, anyone, to hack into your system? That's all I'm saying.

chessplayer0852

Not that I'm aware of, although I'm sure anything is possible.

And I'm not joking about it, sir.

baddogno

Oh just clear your cache Charles and all the weird stuff will go away.  A browser based program is way too hard to hack to do what you described.  Sorry for the laughter; you're obviously mad as hell, but some posts are just unintentionally funny and well, let's face it; emotional maturity is most noteable by it's absence around here.  We're all just reliving junior high school. Embarassed Laughing

I don't have to relive it, I'm living it currently.

Charles008

I have been around unusual people.

NYC is filled with very hurt lockers and they play chess but shouldn't because it takes them away from reality. I have stories. I knew one fellow, when I was a kid. No names. He was a GM in the Carribean, but time passed and when the best years of his life had passed him by and all he had was chess...

...he took all his clothes off and ran through the streets till the police and family got him.

I play chess when I have problems - NOT for entertainment. It's a distraction, and nothing more.

Charles008

I thank you for your responses and soon will post my thesis movie for you to see (Chess & The Stranger)

baddogno

Yeah, taking off all your clothes and running through the streets is rarely a good thing.  I remember back in the late 70s a fellow lunatic, college grad and onetime captain of the wrestling team,  making it halfway across one of the taller Lehigh river bridges.  Most of my bipolar peers are dead, homeless, institutionalized, or chemically lobotomized.  Me, I just hang out in the chess.com forums. Laughing

Who said they don't? The only thing that baffles me is that whenever people lose on time or due to bad connection, their opponent suddenly becomes a "time cheater" or a hacker of some sort. Don't you think it's strange to accuse your opponent of causing the board on your device to blink. It may very well be due to your own device, not the opponent. Your opponent may be a cheater, but don't jump to conclusions so quickly.

Diakonia

Ever noticed how a bad connection is never responsible for a win?

I know right! It's only when you lose due to bad connection, not when you win due to your opponent's bad connection.

As soon as the match was over, you stopped pulling so much data p/sec.

It was probably your internet connection.
