People who dink around during the end game

What is wrong with people who sit there and dink around when they are 1 move from checkmate?  Do they think it's proper to advance a pawn so they can get another queen, when they aready have a rook and a queen?

Chess.com needs to have another item in the list when you give a hands down "Player bored you to death by dinking around in the end game."

The  point of chess is to win, not torment your opponent. I resigned, but was also rather p-ss-d off.

Just to teach them a lesson I promoted all my pawns, and they finally resigned, but I was also rather p-ss-ed off.

Did they block you, Chebyshevv?  Because I would have.

llamonade2

No, because it didn't really happen. My post was a parody.

Or people who think stalling & winning on time is chess, if they think this is learning & improving there rating it’s false

you should resign, all youre hoping for is a stalemate by not wanting them to promote their already dominate and winning position. dont just expect people to produce a mate when you're losing and praying for a miracle, do yourself a favour and resign.

There are no legitimate complaints here. Your opponent plays however they wish, and it is your job to deal with it, however annoying or torturous you may feel it be. It is nobody's obligation to play in a manner that either entertains you or complies with your idea of chess etiquette.

I think you all missed the point.  The point of chess is to win the game.  Of course I resigned.  My time is more valuable than to watch someone dink around.  If you don't know what dink means, you're illiterate.  It is an obligation to play well because chess is a game of manners.  Chess.com would do well to have an age limit designation so mature players don't have to put with immature brats, like the most of you who wrote non-answers to my post.

Dink like a grandmaster by kotov definitely made me want to give up chess. But now I finally realize, I dink therefore I am

Sometimes they don’t do checkmate and end up with a stalemate
Colby-Covington

It's time to hit the chat when that happens.

I humbly disagree. Chess is not a game of manners. It is a game of rules. As long as your opponent follows the rules, it's legal and not up to you to judge what he does. The Russians used psychological intimidation all the time back in the day. So will common chess hustlers in central park, letting themselves run down their own clock on the first move, just to psych you out. Kasparov was less than friendly when he first met a young Magnus Carlsen, etc. If you've ever seen the movie "Searching for Bobby Fischer," it was  all about these two styles of playing chess. Chivalry vs. the other way. The ultimate goal is to win the game. Manners are quaint. Rules aren't.

Just resign in a hopeless position, people do that just to toy with you.

Agreed. At least it's not the other way around where the opponent can check mate with his move, but waits until the very last second to do so.🙄

st0ckfish

What if they are like me and can't checkmate with a rook and queen?!

Machine Learning engines like alphazero and lc0 are the first engines to dink around
