Can you start to bann peoples ip number so they cant come back and cheat? Is it that hard? U have no system at all to bann cheaters now. 60.000 a month says it all. And it doesnt get lower.

Yes u can ban and block ip to use ur hp/app.

Wouldn’t a IP ban mean that one person getting banned would make it so that no one in that house can play?

IP bans only work on someone that doesn't know how to get around it. They are used, but ultimately aren't a solution for a sufficiently motivated person.

You can device id ban.

Avatar of Doubleswest

Make chess app link with their phones id. If they cheat their phone is banned. Simple as that.

Whatever.

Not really. Not all connections provide appropriate information to do that. Add to that, a lot of people have multiple different devices and could use shared devices at schools, libraries, or other places.

What the site could do, though it very likely won't happen, is require every account to be tied to a credit card, so the card could be banned, though even that won't work very well since it's possible to have multiple cards. Or require accounts to pay a certain amount to be created or maybe have any social features. If it cost $5 for each account, abuse would be less likely.

That is true, however, there will always be a way for someone to get around the IP bans, and still play. I don't know why they would put in all that effort just to cheat on chess again.

i know people with diamond memberships who have cheated before so that doesn't mean anything. just play the game if an account was made an hour ago or few days ago just abort(about half of new accounts cheat some don't) also talking about cheating in forums is against the rules. unless your 2000+ you shouldn't worry about being cheated against its pretty obvious when they are. its not that common for cheating until the amount of people in the rating pool decrease(ex their are less 2000s than 800s)

Avatar of BigChessplayer665

also if its 500 to 1400ish dont worry about new accounts its pretty common for new accounts to be around that range

Chess.com doesn't do anything to block cheaters. Sometimes I even think they admire them. Blocking a player with 100% accuracy is easy. But when I report screenshots from engine made by 1200 rated players they never get blocked.

Because accuracy is not a good indicator of cheating. Regular people can have very high accuracy.
Avatar of Doubleswest

I played 3000 matches. I dont have any 90% game

Avatar of Doubleswest

Only if they left game in start. But when i report players with only 90% games. Then admin says they dont cheat. Like u said.. Accuracy is not a good indicator. Like wtf? Is a joke

Avatar of Doubleswest

Kinda 100% obvious people cheat. But i dont think therr are any admins left to bann people. Its waste of time so they stop doing it. Make sense. Even if they will never admit it
