+1 Kasparov!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need more votes for Kasparov!!!!!11

mckn3hd

+1 I would definitely love to see him playing chess again.

Debistro

+1. At least play blitz and rapid tournaments with the current GMs. There is no shame in losing, because these formats are all not standard classical chess.

Plus, his legacy is intact.

JohnHS

Sure, this seems like a decent petition.

That is... if Kaspy the man is willing to make the return!

shasha_op

+100000! But of course if he returns people will start comparing instantly with current top GM's who are at their peak..

Thank you all. However, it does appear that the petition was not strong enough to go viral - at least on this website. Funny enough is that a rather random, and I might add a meaningless, post of asking people whether a certain thread can generate an X amount of posts under Y amount of time does indeed achieve its goal while this sort of petition fails. But hey, mysteries of life, I guess. happy.png

Brah should not bother. He is washed up and should keep his legacy intact.

Kasparov can surely do very well in normal classic time control. In St Louis he got many won positions which he simply was not able to convert due to time shortage. This proves if he has enough time he can beat everyone as he knows more about chess due to his long experience than anybody else. Half an hour of exercise in the gym and then a diet of organic honey and there he goes, ready to crush anyone.

Ha-ha. I kind of doubt this but... Perhaps it's worth seeing. Kasparov is not the same as he was back in his day and neither is chess. But he can certainly put up a good fight if he tries his hardest. And, I believe, him coming back and fighting will not take anything from his legacy. It can only add to popularity of chess.

I agree that Kasparov would not be the same. However, if he brings his best game it would still be an interesting and an entertaining fight and will add to popularization of the game. We have seen this in St. Louis - to some extent. As for the legacy, his return will not take from it. People will be talking about Kasparov before '05 and after just like they talk about Fischer. Everybody understands that a long break changes a lot but it's still good to see an old legend do his best & compete. I believe this will inspire some older people to follow the suit.
