I agree. Reverting it would be much harder.
I think the ratings on 10 minute games are beginning to settle now. A few weeks ago I went up by a hundred points or so and was pushing 1700 but now I'm back at around 1550 which is pretty much where I was before.

I think its fine, the weak versus strong players thing will fix itself by players playing games, and also the club? Really not a problem just a quick announcement of the change and your already back running

If they are going to move 10/0 to rapid, the ratings changes are necessary (to rapid) or extremely good (fixing the blitz/bullet disproportion).
I am however skeptical of the move of 10/0 to rapid. I don't think 10/0 gives much time to work out combinations, unlike 30/30 where you do have time to work with. Yes, 10/0 feels more laid back like rapid, but from the standpoint of how one actually plays, I think it's more like the 5/0 standard of blitz.
I could be convinced, but not by an argument of how the games "feel". If 10/0 performance is more correlated to 30/30 performance than to 5/0 performance, move it to rapid. Otherwise, keep it in blitz.
I agree. Ten minute games have always been blitz. It makes no sense to change them. Blitz games have long been detrimental to good play except by the masters and grandmasters who can play them easily.
10|0 is not blitz.... plus the rating problem has fixed itself, those who didn't deserve to go up went down and those who went up who were at that level stayed, no biggy
10/0 has always been blitz, whether you acknowledge it or not. Makes no difference, I refer to historical data, not opinion.

Funny that when chess.com is the only one who considered 10|0 blitz, hence why they changed it to what it actually is.....

changing 10|0 to rapid will not affect your game. It might affect your rating, but not your game.
At this point I think the changes are fine. I was concerned with getting 5+5 games without having to wait too long, but more people are using that time control now and I'm good with it.
