phone app sucks!

Has anyone else been having problems playing live games? I've lost so many games lately due to my app freezing up and when it unfreezes having lost a lot of time. It's extremely frustrating to lose a winning game due to a glitch.

No, not the iphone app, I have the galaxy s4. The problem is pretty recent, maybe a month or two ago. I'm not really so worried about my rating I know I'm not that good,I just love playing chess and hate losing due to an app error and not my own mistake, which can be frustrating to, but in a very different way.

Because of those games you lost, I wonder will they do a rating adjustment to fix it?

They might if I knew how to contact them, but then again it would be even more unfair to the players that already won to take that away. The ratings are kind of besides the point, but I appreciate the thought.

I'm having issues with the live games, too. Playing on nexus 10, the game just freezes on my turn, the player names disappear (I have connection), and the only message that pops up when I go to chat and back is "User has become NULL". I'm not really worried about the rating, too, but I'm getting these fair policy warnings... I might have to stop using the android app in order to avoid ban or something.

If anyone from chess.com staff is reading this, let me know if I can help you track down the issue.

They have rolled back the app to version 2.  Go back to the play store and click update.  You'll get version 2.  The "User has become NULL" message is a version 3 fault.

My app froze in the middle of a game that I was easily winning with a (800 - 900) player and after I reset it, I went back an looked and found out it had counted him as the winner because I supposedly abandoned the game. Now his member page has me as his highest win... :(

That really sucks iMachChess!  I have given up on the app and recommend  you do the same. The frustration just isn't worth the convenience.

Well, it looks like the masterminds behind the app have done it again. After fixing the problem they rolled out a new version that required an update to play and the exact same issue I was having before, losing time while I can't make a move, is back again.
