plan and strategy

Well being playing chess for almost 3years here on chess.com..I always heard that you need to be consistent with your strategy after seeing my games I always get this comment..and I always wonder what is strategy and plan in chess?

Broadly speaking strategy is what you want to do whilst a plan is how you're going to do it!

lol i tried that when i play with someone who is just going to play his 1st chess game:)

and GarySlegg can you please elaborate it with example?

Well, in chess you might have a strategy of controlling the centre and your plan to do this is to move you pawns into the centre.  An alternative plan would be to put your bishop on the long diagonals which also allows you to control the centre :)

I think in chess tactics means things such as forks, pins, scewers, discovered attacks etc.
