Thanks
I was looking for this opening
I've heard the French Rubinstein isn't really a 'fighting' choice for black. Is that true?
Yeah, it's basically a drawing weapon, there are two outcomes: either white is accurate and gets a nice advantage (sometimes with a big attack). Or white is not accurate and the position is super boring and probably a draw.
But when you're new, there are a million things to learn.
So choosing a few openings like this, that simply aim for a playable middlegame with low losing chances, is fine. You can use the Rubenstein to meet the French while you work on other things, and switch your French choice to something more fighting later.
That's how I see it anyway.
Hello friends,
I would like to share a lesson on the Rubinstein variation of the French Defense opening.
