Just played a WCM (Woman’s FIDE Candidate Master), but she was only rated 1000. What gives? Checked her profile out and her ratings are all low 1000’s and a couple high 800’s even.

Was it because she was 1.) a woman and 2.) From a country in Africa where there’s not a lot of FIDE competition?
