This guy is from Armenia by the way. I am not being racist, it is just a fact that every time this has happened to me it has been someone from India, Turkey, Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Pakistan or eastern Europe. Someone tell me if this is a cultural thing.
Players that ask for a draw when they are losing badly

Had a guy offer me a draw 17 times in succession when he was about to be checkmated.
I didn't accept and he wrote a bunch of cussing notes on my page and put me on block.
Probably what I deserved for playing against a plonker.

Actually, this is a huge problem because, when he was losing badly, not only did he put me on block, he actuallty stalled the game so that I had to give in.

Why would you give in?

what an american fucking thing to say. deal with it yourself, it is not a hard solution. And India, Turkey, Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Pakistan and Eastern Europe all have very different cultures. To group them together is very ignorant on your part

No more to discuss, I'd say.

My suggestion -- give him the draw and never play him again.
OR, keep complaining, getting upset, and stay miserable.

1st, zengalileo is kinda new to this site (july 2014) so she has no way of knowing this topic has been talked to death, a little consideration could be extended.
2nd, she's right, there are a lot of whiners and wimps here who get downright nasty because they can't play worth crap.
3rd, when somebody makes a post, who determines the political correctness here, Kaynight? Grow up, you brainless forum monitor.
4th, if a portion of the world's population wants to feel insulted, tell it to someone who cares..
5th, zengalileo is entitled to a opinion about her experiences on this chess site.

Stop bashing on new people, at least zengalileo (she or he) was talking about chess.
Nobody gives a crap about your political sensitivities. Be a breath of stale air someplace else

Why hasn't the fair play, I mean the unfair play policy, taken care of draw button abuse yet anyway ?

Because if I'm in a repetition or close to fifty moves and my opponent isn't agreeing to my draw offer I'm gonna spam it until it kicks in.

They could split the button two ways into an "offer draw" with a limit of three presses and the "claim draw" with unlimited pressing facility.

If there's 3x repetition or 50+ moves without a piece being taken or pawn moved, I don't think the draw claim has to be accepted, it's just claimed.

Thatchamuk. Thanks! Got my back. I was going to respond but you said it all. I'll just add that it's not my fault I happened to notice where people are from who do this. I wasnt making a statement I was asking a question. Cant a girl ask a question around here without being racist? A simple no would have sufficed. I have no idea what customs are like in lets say Muslim lands. Maybe Mohomad told everybody to do that I dont know. But I do think Sam Harris is a god. So shoot me.

Zengalileo, you did paint with wide paint brush that it was players of "all those countries" that behaved that way....
I'm quite sure that you haven't played ALL the players from east of the west border, given you've played a mere 461 games here....what kind of crazy, dare I say, "ignorant" stereotyping is that ?!

This is my first post. I have never even wanted to get involved in the forum until now. Today I was playing a player rated a good 200 points over me and I was kicking his butt. We were getting into the endgame and all of a sudden he asks for a draw. WHAT???/ A draw? Are you kidding me? I ignored his request for a while and then he pounded out some kind of tantrum like "hdh83838##$^&**hdhf((**." That is literally what he did apparently ticked off I didn't respond. This guys handle is "rubyur" by the way. So i asked him why in the world would I want to draw when I was winning by a long shot. He pouted some more and then a few minutes later he asked again for a draw. WTH??? But this experience is far from rare. I get people mostly from the eastern part of the world asking for draws when they are getting beat to death, somewhat regularly. What is this? Some kind of cultural thing? Imagine being a 1200 player and getting beat by a 1000 player. That's pretty exciting for the 1000 player. Why take that away from him? This freak weirdo "rubyur" eventually resigned when he couldn't get his way the big baby. I think this is an important topic to be discussed broadly on this forum. We have got to find a way to let players know they are to be grown-ups and not go sucking their thumb in the corner when they are losing. I have plenty of other words for these poopy diapers, but I don't want to be censored. Let's just put it ut there that if you ask for a draw when you are obviously losing you are no man or woman. You are a big fat coward.

Well, I once offered a draw when it was mate in one on me, but it was my turn. I offered a draw for 5 min, then he finally jsut said to shut up and play or hes going to call the arbiter or TD. So then i got a mate in 6 and trolled him so bad :)
This was in this tournoment btw
