Players who never finish a game?

I happened to have occasion to play two players recently who ran "Out of Time" with an online game.   I'm playing one at  the moment, the other game  ended with an "Out of Time".   I suspect the current one will as well.

Curious, I  spot checked the history of the two and saw they never finish games at all.   The one player has played  over  2700 games and with the spot checking I saw the only game he didn't lose by time was with a player who did the very same thing but lasted longer.

What gives with players who enjoy starting a game and possibly only move   once,  twice or so and walk away.    Am I missing out  on some kind of thrill they get from doing that?

How high were their ratings?

Yea, if that guy really lost 2699 out of 2700 games, his rating should have been a warning sign...
