If people do that against me I usually mutter a little 'patience young Padawan' to myself, then move along to my next game without even looking at their move. They can wait until I'm ready to make my next move just like everyone else.
Players who use pre-move or respond immediately in daily matches

Until a few days ago, I wasn't even aware that the conditional moves would actually translate into the game in progress. I played around with what moves my opponent might make and forgot to clear it out when I was done. The next day I was confused why the board looked different than how I left it the day before. I had guessed correctly his next 4 moves and it played all of my moves for me. He didn't say anything, but I wonder if that peeved him off.

Ha! That's actually quite funny!

If they play on in a completely losing position in a daily game, I will use conditional moves, because I don't see why they would keep playing on in daily when down a queen, or when I have forced mate. In live chess it is a little different, as flagging exists, and they might not play the best moves, but in daily you have enough time to completely analyze each variation, and there is no hope for your opponent. It seems kinda disrespectful to me, and that is why I use conditional moves-to stick it to them.

same
I don't understand.
I use pre-moves to speed the game along. My intent in playing a correspondence game with a 3 day time is not to take 3 days * 80 ply = 240 days for a single game.
My intent is to play as I have time. I like 3 days because if I get busy for a few days in a row, I don't have to worry about stranding my opponent.
I've played a few games where both my opponent and I happened to be on at the same time, and we played the ending of the game in real time.
But if the next move is fairly obvious, why introduce an artificial delay in waiting to get through a series of captures and recaptures?

Yeah

I use that feature quite often, if I know which opening I'm going to play and I sort of know what his response will be, then why not just get that over with right away. Also during the game, if I'm forcing him to do a certain move, then why not get my next move in right away, it's just convenient.
Does anyone else get (irrationally) irritated when an opponent in a daily chess game always replies to your moves straight away, or uses pre-move? My eyes roll when I get that message, "your move triggered a conditional move. It's your turn again", and if my opponent in a 3 day game always responds straight away I find myself thinking "get a life".
The purpose of this post is not to complain. I am fully aware that players who do this are in no way infringing either the actual rules of the site, or the less clearly defined moral 'rules' of sportsmanship. I personally just can't help but find it a bit irritating, and was wondering whether anyone else reacts in the same way.
Imagine that they are premoving a 15 move forced checkmate

Exactly. I use conditional moves to save time in obvious sequences. ie Book openings, series of exchanges, etc. It just speeds up the process, and gets us to the interesting parts that require actual thinking sooner.

Pre-moves save time for both players in forced (or likely) move sequences. Likewise in the opening if you're playing the main lines. I'm fine with my opponent using them too, or if they move quickly. If my opponent takes offense at this practical time-saver, they might feel a stinging sensation -- it's their ego.
