Playing Blindfold Technique suggestions??

Greetings, I am a fanatic chess player and am constantly practising any way that i can as much as i can; and would like to now learn how to play without sight of the board and peices, as i believe if i can play out combinations in my head before committing to them i will be able to play with less errors - can someone please advise on helpful techniques that may help or where to find them? I sat stareing at the board today for 30 minutes hoping that when i closed my eyes it would all be there. . . it wasn't. would really appreciate any feedback on playing blindfolded tips, thanks
