Playing Gambits against Engines

Is there any point to playing Gambits against engines.

Does the engines tactical strength make it pointless to practice these type of games.

Patrick Wolf in Complete idiots Guide to chess says you should play strategic type games against Engines and avoid games where wild tactics are likely.

Thanks

So i presume only closed type games and specific positions should be practiced when using engines

I think against engines just play your openings even if they are gambits. The only reason your playing against an engine is to practice for regular play I would assume. So by playing your openings you learn them deeper and learn what works against them, also the best players in the world can't consistently beat engines so I don't concern myself to much if I lose, I just try and learn something. Hope this helps!
