Playing Higher Rated Players

Hi all,

A while ago I sent out a forum-search, looking for higher rated players to play against and learn from, and I got a pretty positive response, as well as some good games. At that point I was ~ 1450 strength.

Since then I've gained strength, and also started a study blog. At this point, I think my daily strength is ~1600, although I'm known to make errors before coffee!

So, now, I reiterate my call for generous-feeling higher rated players to play me in a casual daily game.

I would also like to extend an opportunity to lower rated players to take on a ~1600 rated player. We can go over the game afterwards if you like, or not. Ultimately, we're all here to learn, have fun, and play better chess!

Whatever your decision, enjoy your day. happy.png

I#d be happy to give you a Daily game, unless you think I'm too low?

I'm vastly over-rated at 2297 (my true strength is around 2000). I'll play the occasional UNRATED training game at 3 days per move.

The point is that no one's too low or too high. grin.png The point is for lower rated players to have the opportunity to play and learn from higher rated opponents!

Is Daily Unrated 5 days/move good with you?

That's great! May I send you a challenge with those specifications?

Would you be okay with unrated 5 days/move?

I would like to play rated, but could it be 5 days per move? If you want unrated that’s fine with me. Just please: (1). Talk about each move that you make, why, etc. (2). Give comments on my moves and my explanations. Of course, this may be better for you if it is unrated since I am lower rated than you. However, my true playing strength should be at about 1500 if I really focus on the game. I’m playing on a daily tournament right now, so I may play a bit stupidly from lack of concentration...I’m focusing more on the tournament. Best would be if you play with me longer time control...if you want.

Okay, no worries, we can do that. Might be good for me to keep mindfulness of the game, so good for both of us! grin.png
