playng high level chess (against an opponent which is also)

"playing chess with a high accuracy but coincidentally draw or lose"
++ If both players play correctly, then the game ends in a draw.
If you lose, then it is because you made the last mistake.

I ran a tournament based on a drawn endgame recently and a friend of mine scored 100% accuracy in every game but only finished 3rd place because all of his games were drawn. We saw a lot of 100% accuracy games but also a few mistakes.

Try to appreciate the challenge of playing against a strong opponent and the opportunity to test your skills at a high level. Treat each game as a learning experience.

Can someone here relate to the deception of playing chess with a high accuracy but coincidentally draw or lose bc ur opponent is also in good form? it feels kinda frustrating to me and happens occasionally.
On the other hand, being on the opposite side of that situation feels great; when your opponent plays a strong, very accurate game and presses you almost hard enough to break you... but you parry every thrust and push on to victory. You win... not because one or the other of you made an obvious blunder, but because he had Kings and you had Aces.
