please allow more competent people to moderate the livestream chat

would be thoroughly appreciated

People? No person moderates. There's a useless bot which is completely fooled by mispellings and that's it.

Earlier, during the Deathmatch, I believe someone was banned for saying that one of the commentators should get a comb. To be fair, there was some messy hair going on at the time.

Also, at one point, I was banned from a Chess.com TV broadcast (it was the post-Sinquefield 2014 blitz bonanza) for writing "GO KASPAROV!".

It seems to me that some of the moderators slightly abuse power. Now, the mods are essential, but some of them should cut back on "frivolous" banning.

I was watching the deathmatch. Not so much the comments because they were useless and trashy and I shut my facebook account so I couldn't even comment myself, but when I did look at the comments, it couldn't be more obvious they were unmoderated. Saying Irina Krush should get a comb was probably the nicest thing anyone said.

small_potato

The problem with the moderation is that its done by voluteers, with the age old problem that the only people who volunteer for such things are those who shouldn't be allowed any power over other users in the first place.

Do you think that possibly, QUITE possibly, that the person got muted for an irrelevent comment?  People were there to watch chess(I assume), not make comments about Irina's hair.

Narz

Who even won (I didn't see any article/comment on it on the homepage)?  I watched for awhile but the sound kept going in & out, there were two Geico commercials, the whole bit was the epitome of unprofessional.  No offense chess.com, just keeping it real.

DiogenesDue

I made a comment about people insulting the deathmatch participants and got muted immediately...kind of surprising since I have never been muted that way before, and had said nothing more offensive than the word "Cheetos"...as in "It's pretty easy to insult strong GMs when you are sitting on your couch in Mom's basement eating Cheetos..."

So, apparently, you can say the most horrible things about Nakamura and So, or the commentators Krush and Hess, and no action taken...but if you point out the hypocrisy and turn it around on the commenters, it suddenly becomes wrong ;).

If it was an automated thing, the "GO KASPAROV" - may have triggered because of all capital letters.

Human mods will do you up for caps. Saw it today Smile.

Why bother reading and posting comments? They get burn instantly. You should rather enjoy the show and use fullscreen.

I do.  I cast events to my TV while I am working.  But after the match, I minimized it again and that's when I saw all the garbage spewing forth from all the wannabes about how Nakamura and So are weak GMs, etc. ;)...

Trash talking about something you have a hand in is one thing...uncouth, but at least understandable...trash talking about something you are merely a spectator of is just pathetic.

SilentKnighte5

I would mute someone who was rooting for Kasparov too.

MSC157

btickler, that s quite unfortunate indeed. ;)

Meh, I guess I'll go with MSC157's advice about just enjoying the show and not paying attention to the idiots. I s'pose we'll all have to accept that chess.com's gonna moonlight as a zoo for the time being...

kleelof

I was blocked yesterday from Dan Heismans broadcast for using the word 'Vodka' as a funny response to the question 'How can I go to sleep at night after a chess game?'

WOW! 2 days and 12 friends and 11 groups.

You sure get around.

camberfoil

2 days into my chess.com career I was still waiting for my TB opponent to move, thinking What is taking this guy so long! And why does it say 14 days? JK.

This ^ Attempting to follow that ridiculous chat on Livestream is an exercise in futility.
