Because $3.00 a month is really breaking the bank...

Also, as stated many times before.  you do not need to pay for an account to learn chess.  Chess.com offers plenty of free resources.  Just play for free.

There is a way to buy somebody a memebership without sending the money directly? Right? So where is the scam part?

Oh, and what the hell is wrong with people criticizing this girl. If you can't help then at least don't be nasty.

dude gtfo of here.  no one wants to hear your garbage.

Blunders - I am glad you have someone to sympathize with your situation and possibly to grant you a membership.  I have no idea what it's like to live in Morocco -- I am poor enough as it is living in Wisconsin, and I am told as an American that we are spoiled compared to others.  I am really glad that someone here was nice enough to reach out to you and offer their support (thanks to JoJo and Ian Sinclair) -- if I had the money I surely would have considered offering mine.

That's the way of talking brothers and sisters......

Everyone is talking here but two girls have done the job, women in this world are just so beautiful and sensitive ;-)

Dear "blunder" I wish you all the best for you and your life, maybe one day you will be a world champion, maybe not... it don't really matters anyway, you just gave everyone a great lesson today.

take chess books out of the library, there's typically more than enough material to get started!

I'm surprised this thread has not been removed by chess.com staff since it represents solicitation. But then, they are probably enjoying this joke as much as the rest of us.

I think the request by Blunders is a reasonable one, as someone said if you don’t ask you don’t get!

Due to my character / personality I would usually be the first to offer my help, however due to stringent financial control as a result of current projects, I couldn't justify such expenditure, even such a miniscule one.  If I had a high level of disposable income then it would give me great pleasure to do someone a favour and simultaneously remunerate the providers of chess.com for the production and maintenance of an excellent site.

I very much agree with the comments that have evidenced many free ways to study chess, have you pursued these Blunders?

I’ve been made aware of the benefits of having a paid membership on chess.com by the frequent emails I receive and it would help in making a judgement if Blunders would provide reasoning as to how exactly the paid membership account would be of benefit in her study of chess.  (As asked by Ian Sinclair)

If Blunders revealed her “life story” I believe this would help many of the “threaders” (people following the thread!) understand her situation and some of the assumptions made would’ve been avoided!

“Just_a_beginner” recommended that Blunders becomes an underwater ceramics technician (washing dishes in a local restaurant) in order to generate some extra income, is this something that is feasible for you Blunders?

I’d like to chase the use of the term “begging” which has popped up several times in this discussion.  Chess.com is not a necessity like food & water and Blunders request has not been forced upon us, it is our choice to make whether we can help or not.

Blunder has identified chess.com paid membership as something she would like, however perhaps due to her priorities of expenditure i.e. on necessities, she cannot justify making the payment, which is why she has made the appeal for help.

What do the users of the term “beg” exactly mean by using it?  Where do you draw the line?  I’m soon to undertake a 1500mile cycle tour of England, taking part in various fundraising activities along the way, the purpose being to raise money to travel through Europe, Russia and then into Mongolia, participating in charitable projects along the way, would collecting donations and receiving sponsorship for this be classified as begging?

It is obviously up to the reader to conclude how credible Blunders story is…

I like to think that there are still some honest people about in the world.

Regards,

Mik

I am sorry to you renegade.  I must give it decline.  I am not teacher of the chess game.  I am learning the chess.

KAKROACH

No one is generous enough. Dollar is very expensive here in India almost 50 rupees a dollar. Otherwise if she is talented like our Tanya I would certainly buy it for her.

Get a Job!

NO IDENTITY THEFT.  I do not want your information.  Please to buy the membership direct from the website.  I do not want your privacy information!!

I  want only this chess membership scholarship!!

RC_Woods

I can't handle it anymore.

Stop calling this game 'the chess'.

It is called 'chess'.

You are learning chess, not 'the chess'.

that's all.

What are you studying? I'm a student too, so I can't help I'm afraid.

There are plenty of benefits for th free mebership.  Start with that and see how it goes.

ozzie_c_cobblepot

So do I learn the chess on the internets?

costelus

I am simply outraged that this thread became the most viewed thread on chess.com. I don't know why it has not been locked by now.

Maybe we should start discussing about cheating here so that the thread to be locked or deleted??
