PLEASE GROW UP

that's kinda what i'm thinking. i'm also thinking, the OP could tap into his own alleged maturity and NOT give a shit if theinvisibleboy spams the forums.
BirdsDaWord

Ilikeflags, nothing immature about discussing posts on here.  You and I have discussed this before.  Posts should be respectful on chess.com.  For me to discuss that has nothing to do with maturity, but rather discussing something that happened here on chess.com.  Although most people don't post the crazy stuff this guy was posting, there is a lot of whining that goes on here too.  I have personally found that dealing with staff on strong issues (like harassment) are dealt with fairly.  I am sure you agree.

BirdsDaWord

My wife was suggesting the same thing I was thinking - can chess.com block IP addresses?  If a person locks up their own, the only way they could do it would be to use someone else's IP address.  Don't know if that is possible.

SandyJames

Excuse me, but who's this guy you're all talking about? Can someone pm me the link to his thread. Thank you,

ilikeflags
then why the "PLEASE GROW UP" title? and the spammy thread? why not just report him? you deserve to be slagged off for the all-caps alone. your starting of this thread is so ironic, it's not even worth pointing out.
BirdsDaWord

ilikeflags, that was in reference to his use of all caps.  You are just mad about previous stuff.  I wish you would grow up too.   Nothing spammy about this - it is a real discussion about people posting childish stuff on here.  The caps weren't necessary, that is true, but it was in reference to about 10 posts of his.  I wish you, likewise, would continue with real discussion, rather than accusations that are unfounded.

backrank, they all got deleted this morning about 8:45am or so.  He got deleted too, but unfortunately he keeps creating new accounts and doing this every morning (I have seen it happen on two different mornings so far).

flags, the threads were appearing on and off all day in the forum titles on the right side of here. invis was posting vile headers in caps making sure everyone saw what he posted. I've been monitoring the forums all day removing his nasty threads.

They shouldn't have been in here in the first place. invisi knows what hes doing

and who is seeing his threads.

ilikeflags
i know what invis has been doing. we've all seen it. lucky for chess.com we have birdbrain to lead the discussion on his badly needed growth. whew. hey bird, what am i mad about? invis doesn't upset me, althoug he is pretty annoying. you act like spammers like theinvisibleboy are a new thing or a novelty.
BirdsDaWord

Kohai, thanks for doing this diligently.  My wife was agreeing with flags that all cap titles is considered spammy, which honestly, I didn't know.  I apologize if it is taken that way, because it never was with that intent - simply discussing the silly stuff going on.

Anyway, Kohai, thank you for doing a job you shouldn't have to be doing, and keeping the forums clean for us who do like reading through them.

BirdsDaWord

flags, does it bother you that I suggest that people post legit stuff on here?  I guess this post had somewhat to do with him, but also to do with every post on here about "people who say gg are stupid", "I hate those who don't offer me a rematch", etc.  I understand the desire to vent, but there are better ways to do it than that.

ilikeflags
i'm not venting. seems like you're venting. i'm certain chess.com doesn't need your advice about what members should or should not post in the forums. you'll always get helpful and worthless content. just wade through it dude. seems easy enough.
BirdsDaWord

flags, for the most part, I never say anything about it.  Rather than venting, I am discussing a concept that would be nice - people to think before they speak.
This is not advice to chess.com staff, but rather to other posters.  We shouldn't get so upset over someone saying gg, or the like.  And especially the idea that posting lots of ridiculous posts on chess.com makes sense.

Someone posted on Facebook the other day about if someone waves at them or says hi, they feel like cussing them out or punching them.  That is kind of the same thing here.  There are better ways to deal with a forum than a big rant.

ilikeflags
you really don't see the irony do you.
BirdsDaWord

ilikeflags, the irony is that you are less interested in discussing improvements, and more interested in trying to create discussion that shouldn't exist, on a forum that is about discussing improvements on chess.com forum etiquette.  I am going to do the same thing to you that you suggest I should have done to him, and not respond to you on this.  I don't believe you have genuine intent, but that you enjoy nagging and pestering people to get kicks.  Sorry that you like that...

BirdsDaWord

He just popped up again, with a new name, "iwannapoopinyourface"...LOL The saddest part is that he gets real kicks out of this.  What is awesome is that as soon as the forums popped up, they were deleted.  Thank you Kohai!

ilikeflags
i forgive you
GargleBlaster

I'm guessing this may lead to the long overdue creation of a subject filter, so, er, yay.

BirdsDaWord

yeah, you are right chris.  I wish flag's suggestion of ignoring posts you don't agree with would solve all the problems, but some (unlike the "invisible" posts) seem worth a bit of discussion.  I agree "gg" is worth discussing, but not getting angry over.

ilikeflags
ignore? i never said ignore. i said wade through. btw, you're really focused in this "gg" thing.
