It depends. It depends on what you are doing now, how much time and effort you put into chess and also what your strengths/weaknesses are likely to be.
Based on the little information you've given already, I might suspect maybe chess burnout (playing everyday can be a lot) and possibly you playing a lot more than you should and putting less time into analysis. I'm not saying this is necessarily the case here, but some people play chess a ton and just repeat the same mistakes over and over: destined to never improve dramatically.
Luckily, if this is true for this case, the solution is simple: mix up the "routine" and begin correcting some misconceptions and improving upon those mistakes. Yes, easier said than done, but that is okay if you are willing to put an effort into chess for the long-term.
Feel free to message me on chess.com and we can figure out more player-specific ways to improve ![]()
We can even play some unrated chess together sometime so I can try to get a sense of what I think you might be good enough in and what you might be lacking to take it to the next level.
Good luck with your chess journey ![]()
I suck.. I felt like for a while I was getting better.. I started playing about 2 years ago, joined on here about a year and a few months back, got up to 1275 in Rapid after playing about 10 games a day for about a year... Then I just started to lose... I suck now. I am horrible. I lose to far lower rated players, I am very inconsistent, I have slumped to about a 1025-1070 plateau for about 6 months and I just lose my temper, and don't know what I am doing wrong... Please anyone help. I want to get very good. I read books, watch chess 24/7, play everyday... Why am I getting worse?
