This is not an ongoing game, I played this a week ago and won, but it lasted for 2 more hours after this position and I checkmated him with a king and a rook, but I am sure there is a better way to checkmate, before loosing all of my pieces and starting a king hunt. I need your opinions.

Dear Chess lovers. Can you please help me with this position. I am playin with white, and it's white's turn to move. Here is a little explanation of the achieved position. White plays Nc5, black plays Re8, now white's turn. Which is my best move? Do I have a checkmate here? Should I trade the queen's in case if black plays Qg6?
