Tournament Prediction Game 2017 (PPP) 🡺 "Tata Steel Chess 2018"

How on Earth the contest is leaded by the man who is running the contest and his bearless best friend, it smells very bad!!

Yeah... no person who does not own any bears should be allowed to participate in this contest!

And when I say bearless I mean beardless!!!
And when I say pdela I mean hopeless!!!

Yes, but no-one guessed either player in the tie-breaks, so no more points can be scored and thus the results are final.

I demand a recount of the votes!
I demand a refund! > . <
yeah, me too... OP never said anything about Carlsen having the cold...

I'm making a list of all his crimes... hmmm... I think I'll go with alphabetical order

So there's a tie for the first place...
Between TPG director and his best friend. Fishy, if you ask me!
As long as the TPG director doesn't win, I'll keep quiet...

Make your prediction about Carlsen - Naka final here, too!Â

In case of a tie in TPG, I decided that the winner will be the one with the highest tie-break score. It's calculated by taking a percentage of points gained at every event separately and average it.
If it's still tied, then we have a shared lead.

a) Are you counting unplayed tournaments towards the average as 0, or not counting it at all?
b) This is going to be pretty tricky to do in the spreadsheet (not impossible though )

Only for the first place... or, for podium places, let's say
Unplayed are not counted as 0

Well I've done it for all places (just one formula and it gets copied down).
Unplayed do not count to the average (so this favours players that have played less tournaments, as if they got the same number of points in less tournaments, their percentages will be higher). The formula is very long though (I did some cool string concatenations to get it, no way was I typing that all out!).

Or, if we want to get rid of all of the complicated technicalities, we could vote on who wins in the case of a tie. If you want to make it interesting, how much each vote counts can be proportional to the score of the person casting the vote.
Also, whoever loses the vote must post a video of themselves dancing to a viral pop song from 2017 of their choice.
So there's a tie for the first place...
