Tournament Prediction Game 2017 (PPP) 🡺 "Tata Steel Chess 2018"

You knew from Day 1 it's under the patronage of mine 😎

Wow. Carlsen must have seen ~14 moves ahead to make a positional judgment that led to a nearly winning position on move 28.
That's impressive, to see on move 28 the position after move 42 and realize that White has real winning chances there.

And now... Carlsen for the 6th time or Giri for the first?
I've seen somewhere that Carlsen has won every tiebreak match of his career. Then again, he doesn't exactly have the best head to head score against Giri.

And I predicted Caruana as the winner...
Well, at least you didn't predict Hou Yifan.
Btw, I wonder how Caruana feels about all of a sudden being the #3 player in the US. Must be similar to how Naka felt when Caruana and So switched affiliations and quickly overtook him.

So it turns out that the person who lost the most rating points in this tournament is actually Caruana. According to 2700chess, he has -26.6 while Hou has -26.5.

I really kinda feel sorry for those two, momentum was not on their side and everything went totally wrong!
And yes, Magnus apparently indeed never lost a tie-break. That's quite something, huh! However, I still believe he'd sign his first loss in London 2013, had he and Kramnik played a tie-break in the Candidates instead of some other not-on-the-board tie-break rules they had
I'll post TPG results in the next hour.

Now that Wijk and Zee has finished, given Kramnik's results, I feel there are still chances that the much desired (at least by me) match Carlsen-Kramnik will happen.
But the Candidates usually has nothing to do with Tata Steel, and I'm a jinx, so Mamedyarov and Kramnik will share last place and Caruana will sweep the field by awakening the beast that has been sleeping since Sinquefield 2014.
He wouldn't be a bad challenger either...

Alright, first of all, many congrats to @LeonCao17 for solely winning Wijk aan Zee TPG! Bravo!

And now, looking at the TPG standings, many congratulations to @ThomasJEvans, collecting 538 points over 16 events! And eventually, 3rd place! 💪🥉
On the 2nd place, founder of the event, co-editor with the 3rd place finisher, with the final 582 points, me or @MSC157! Well done me 🤣🥈
And the winner of the all-year or half a year long event, only edging me by a couple of points with final 586, also scoring the most wins (3), @NewArdweaden! Outstanding job! 🏆🥇

GCM - Game Classification Master goes to @NewArdweaden with 57 pts. MSC had 46 and @SJFG 42!
MPA - Masterclass Prediction Awardee trophy also goes to @NewArdweaden, 18 points. MSC 17 and SJFG 16.
GER - Golden Eagle Rating badge goes to @MSC157, @ThomasJEvans was 2nd and @macer75 3rd.

At the end of the TPG 2017 (PPP) season, I'll award 5 titles. These are the following:
- 1st place in TPG/PPP (TPC - Tournament Prediction Champion)
- 2nd place in TPG/PPP (TPRU - Tournament Prediction Runner-Up)
- 3rd place in TPG/PPP (TPPM - Tournament Prediction Podium Member)
- Best qualifier per TPG (GCM - Game Classification Master)
- Most accurate predictor (MPA - Masterclass Prediction Awardee)
Rules:
- TPC, TPRU & TPPM are awarded according to the Final Standings.
- MPA goes to the member with the most accurate predictions (full 'section' points).
- GCM is detemined by scoring system 10/6/4/3/2/1, which are awarded after each event.
Edit (more in ~#443):
I present another "award", the last one: It's Golden Eagle - for the most accurate '# of decisive games' predictor. All players that competed in at least 2 events are eligible for this award.
Golden Eagle Rating is calculated on 3 decimal places and is based on accuracy of the prediction.

Thank you. Thank you very much, everyone. Sorry to keep you waiting; complicated business; complicated. Thank you very much. I've just received a message from MSC157. He congratulated us, it's about us, on our victory, and I congratulated him and other predictors on a very, very hard-fought campaign. I mean, he fought very hard. MSC157 has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe him a major debt of gratitude for his service to our entertainment. I mean that very sincerely. Now it's time for PPP to bind the wounds of division, have to get together. To all Pdelas and Pulpos and independents across this game, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people. It's time. I pledge to every citizen of our game that I will be champion for all predictors, and this is so important to me. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great game. And now I'd like to take this moment to thank some of the people who really helped me with this, what they are calling tonight, very, very historic victory. First, I want to thank my parents, who I know are looking down on me right now. Great people. I've learned so much from them. They were wonderful in every regard. I had truly great parents. And my friend MSC157, my great friend. Where is MSC157? Where is MSC157? My friend MSC157. And they should all be in this thread, but that's OK. They're great. And also my last-round loser, Blübaum. Great guy. Fantastic guy. I was very lucky. Great final score prediction, challengers podium; great, unbelievable predicted winner choice. To ThomasJEvans and macer75, and SJFG, and Mihai-Stefan and Pulpofeira and ArgoNavis, I love you and I thank you, and especially for putting up with all of those hours. This was tough. This was tough. This prediction stuff is nasty and it's tough. So I want to thank my competitors very much. Really fantastic. Thank you all. Thank you all. Again, it's my honour. It was an amazing evening. It's been an amazing two-year period. And I love this game. Thank you. Thank you very much.
Uh huh, July 2, 2017?
