What is the point of these points? Probably a really obvious thing, but I'm new.
Erik is thinking about adding prizes for a certain number of points. Like...1000 points=1 month free basic membership, or something like that.

points are given when you make posts in the forums, create a blog on your homepage, upload photo's, add a news article .. that kind of thing.. Points just show how interactive a person is on chess.com

i don't think you get points from writing several posts on the same thread.. check your points, see if they alter
Edited.... i just added an extra post here, then deleted it.. yes your points rating does go up when you add more posts on the same thread.

it doesnt show the points going up where it says member points
So the incentive to post and be an active member of the community is points, but is there some incentive to having points? Or are they just like gold stars on little kids' homework assignments?
