If you do not agree, which evaluation would be a stable advantage for Black in your opinion ?

Depends on the position.

I have met completely winning positions where after a few hours' thought the engines (quite a few of them, not just one!) claimed something like +0.06, while in another game my opponent resigned at a position evaluated as +2.3 by Houdini. In reality this position was definitely drawn, no chances for white without generous cooperation by the opponent.

I have a rating around 2400 at centaur chess, and I rarely take the engine's evaluations for real. I play whatever I think is fitting the position in the best way possible, and I use the engine to spot tactical deficiencies, and nothing more than that.

It does not matter so much now as we are playing until win loss or draw.

Take no prisoners!

Could you give an estimate for minimum rating of a player who is able to judge such 'disputable' positions the same way as you do ?

Any non-beginner rating could do the job. One just needs to have the feel of the position, and a certain degree of stategical understanding.

Here is a lovely example:

The way Black (a strong correspondence player) lost this game is almost comical. Apparently he had too much faith to the engine's evaluation, which after 19.Nh2 is around -0.70.

Of course this evaluation is light years away from the truth, which is- black is risking ending up with an entombed bishop after an eventual f4-f5, and he MUST take radical measures to prevent it.

How difficult is for a human to feel that the f4-f5 push is a dangerous plan? Not at all. Apparently Houdini disagrees, until the position is already BLR.

5 games going  have not yet received a move from UIUCBoss

blumzovich

Ponz were you going to send me a challenge?  Ok, guess not, for "various personal reasons"?  Feel free nevertheless -- I will make myself avaiable for a challenge.

ponz111

The one person is not trandom  it is 1 random  Very sorry, I recently had surgery on both eyes and cannot see very well yet.

blumzovitch I think you got upset with me and took yourself out of our analysis group?  Anyway, it is too late now I already have enough to handle.

blumzovitch, you are very talented just please no more personal type attackes in forums.  You are better than that.
