I see...I guess nothing is truly free in this world is it?...Actually pokerstars.net doesn't inundate you with ads...and it's free with play money...They get you when you start playing for real dineros...
If I'm not mistaken, the ads that show up on chess.com should be unobtrusive. I've been a premium member for a year now so I'm not certain if this holds true or not. In the past there's been a link at the bottom of each ad to report it if it's either offensive or taking over your screen.

It doesn't really bother me, but I'm trying to get my father up to speed on this site (he's 80 yrs old) so we can play chess together...but he is complaining about the ads...and it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks...if you know what I mean.
If you use Firefox you can just download this add-on and it will get rid of ads:

I've noticed that I'm getting a lot of pop-up ads when I log in to chess.com. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a setting somewhere in order to turn off the ads? Any help would be appreciated.
