I never copy-paste anything someone else has written into my profile or status of any social media type site.  And I wouldn't use my chess.com profile for political messages anyway.

That means your not against bullying

Doesn't mean anything of the sort.  Copy-pasting someone else's words is meaningless.  If people want to make a statement then they should write their own words.  And like I said, a chess profile isn't the place for political statements, certainly not for me anyway.

Whether people trying to dictate to others to add it to their profile and drawing conclusions when they don't are against bullying though is an amusing concept!

Oh... well i’m that sorta guy who likes to follow trends

If my friends and family all the sudden jumped off a building and died,  I would do the same.

You would NEVER jump of a building just to be popular, because you would die 10 seconds later.

I mean, are you TRYING to kill yourself?

Pukelmen

I have seen that a lot a I don't know why it is written so badly

I said NOTHING about being popular

I just said I follow trends

I was using it as an example

OUAT2TLG

seriously, theey're baiting you. you don't have to explain yourself. if they can't--or more likely won't--understand your example, ignore them. we all follow trends sometimes, even the ones who claim they don't.wink.png

Its not a trend, its to support anti-bullying

THAT'S MY PROFILE PIC!!!
YOU SHUT IT RIGHT NOW!!

DrSpudnik

Reactions to bullying have changed since I was a kid. Used to be, you'd grow a pair and call him out and kick his [community guidelines]. One good [community guidelines]-kicking and the average bully folds.  Bullies are cowards and always have been.

Yes it is

The definition of “trend” is a fashion

Though this doesn’t really relate to clothes, it still a trend as a lot of people are doing it

NathanMa17

Honestly, bullying is stupid. I’ve learned that the hard way, there are SOOOO many bullies at my school. I’ve managed to avoid most of them, but hopefully I can keep it up for the rest of the year.

PhamThaiVinh

perfect

amazingcraft

but how to add that photo in my profile

52yrral

Yep.Somethings never change.

m_connors

I get political, I believe. I get bullying, I think.

I'm not sure how bullying can be misunderstood; a stronger person or a group of people needlessly "picking on" a weaker person, or group, the victim. Seems obvious, at least to me. Bullying can happen on an individual level - against one person. Or happen to an ethnic group - history is replete with examples of the stronger oppressing, or worse, the weaker.

Having said all of this, I would think everyone (well, except the bullies) would be against bullying. How can helping those who cannot help themselves be wrong? How can wanting to end bullying be wrong?

I don't see how bullying could be perceived as political. No mater what your political affiliation, I would like to think we would all want to stop bullying. (Well, again, except the bullies.)

So, someone asks you to put an anti-bullying bit on your Profile. You can decline and that's fine. You are uncomfortable with it, it doesn't fit in with your Profile etc. That's fine, that's ok. But why "slag" the requester? Just ignore the request and move on.

glamdring27

Well, the 'requester' should request, in that case rather than type:

'If you are a good person, copy/paste this onto your profile'.

Most people don't request things by labeling everyone who doesn't do something as 'not a good person'!

AliMcK

It's nice to use social media for good things and good messages.  I like the sentiment very much gocapitals.  Well done you to be doing your bit to stamp out a bit of nastiness in the world.

gocapitals

Thank, you, i appreciate it.

I noticed today a LOT of people have this on their profile, and i read it and added it to mine.

If you are a good person, copy/paste this onto your profile. I don't know who originally made this, but it is pretty good.

Is this what a chain letter looks like these days?

NathanMa17

Yes
