Anyone know a good chess laptop?

Hello,

I currently have a Toshiba Satellite L655 laptop with windows 7 installed on it. I have chessbase 13 on it, but most of the times I run it, it eventually crashes or stops responding. I also have Komodo 8, but it’s impossible to run, since it crashes the computer immediately. Also, every time I run Chessbase, the fan starts running like I’m sitting next to an airplane. Bottom line: it’ pretty much impossible to run chess software on my laptop.

Do do you have any suggestions what laptop I should buy so that it has good calculating strength, and runs all the chess programs fast and without crashing. I don’t care about the graphics card. I only want a strong processor, lots of ram, and lots of disk space for a decent price.

Please help!

Thanks😀

It sounds like you are pushing your system too hard.  If you are OK with heavy look for "workstation laptop" that means lots of CPU.  You also want lots of ram if you are going to buy new get 32 or 64g (16g min).   Not sure how much you are willing to spend and how much you care about battery life...  You are better off buying a used workstation laptop then a newer system if performance is what you care about.  Dell Precision, HP Z series, Apple Macbook pro...
