pre moves are annoying in Daily Chess

Does anyone else find it annoying when you are playing a 3 day Daily Game and your opponent is always using pre moves? Blitz I understand but in Daily? Come on Dude.

It’s like they don’t have time for you. Really? You’re playing a Daily Game for goodness sake! Sheesh! Slow down, smell the roses.

You can pre move daily games? Sounds kinda lit

Annoying? I just don’t see it. If I anticipate your move and already know my response, why do you care? Especially in the case of recaptures and forced moves, why wait? You still have your full time limit to use as you see fit and my conditional move is not intended to pressure you to move more quickly. Sometimes, particularly when my opponent is in a far different time zone, the game progresses very slowly as I’m asleep when they move and a conditional move can keep the game going. Still it’s a lot more original complaint than those who gripe about daily players taking their fully allotted time to move...

Premoves are fantastic, I use them all the time.

I've already premoved a whole game from the beginning and villain died to some opening trap.

It would mean they have more time to make moves in preparation for you if the opponent is playing multiple games. It's much easier to just make a move when you have 20+ games on the clock.

HeHe Colin, you made me laugh.

It’s just annoying that after you make your move, the pieces just move again on auto-pilot. It’s like you are playing a computer and not a real person.

it surely does feel a little weird and annoying

Shock_Me
Would you feel better if instead of having a conditional response to your obvious move I made my response manually right away? Is there a specific amount of time you’d like me to wait so as not to annoy you?

I think the conditional moves is great,  I like using it to see if my string of calculations all went to plan or not. Your move triggered conditional moves happy.png bullet.png

Play less predictably?  Seriously, though...why would someone *not* pre-move for things like well known openings, obvious recaptures, pawn races, perpetual checks, forcing lines, etc.?

I guess if they pre-moved a blunder like a knight fork and then you walked into it...that would be pretty annoying?  But even then, your annoyance should be directed your own way, not at your opponent.

it's nice if YOU predict it.. it's not nice though to know that you're going where your opponent wants you to

Dear Schlock-Me (post #13) I think at least 60 seconds would be polite enough.

Pre-moves when the opponent takes vacation when there's only a couple of moves left in the game makes a lot of sense

I sometimes find it confusing (if that's the right word) when it takes 6 weeks to  get to move 20; then suddenly a couple of conditional moves back to back pop up. Where did this sudden burst of speed come from? Not that I'm complaining.  I get tired of looking at a game after about a month.
