Preferred finish for a game

Would you rather your opponent let you checkmate him/her or would you rather your opponent forfeit when the situation is hopeless?

Personally I don't like getting checkmated and will forfeit out of respect when I know I'm beaten. I also don't always like having to drag out the game and checkmate after an annoying endgame, but there is something very satisfying about checkmating your opponent after a hard fought battle.

Preference?

I like playing out endings in person because it is quick, but on chess.com's turn based game I would prefer people to resign if the situation is truly hopeless because it takes so long to resolve a game.  Normally I appreciate all the practice I can get.

I resign when i no i have a decent disadvantage. I know when im down (even when the material is even, i know when im in a good or bad position) and I don't like dragging out lost games. I personaly like mating with alot of material still left on both sides (its the best when both sides have even material and ur able to mate them with multiple pieces 3+ [cheap mates that could have been prevented the move before give me no satisfaction]).

If I can see no drawing chances, then I will resign.  Or if I blunder my way to less material, then I will also resign.  I can usually tell when I am being out-classed and badly losing a game.  As far as winning, I don't mind if the other player resigns or plays to checkmate.  I just don't like it when they put the game in your hands and then let the time run out.
