Premium - what's it worth?

I think its well worth the $99/Year.  Try getting the same benefit from a coach for $99/year.

I've come really close a few times to upgrading to the gold or platinum. I love doing the tactics, and I do have a free app that's giving me good quality challenging tactics, but there's still the matter of the lessons. I almost every day do a free lesson and I always max my tactics out. I really enjoy the lessons and find them to be very helpful. My biggest issue is available time. I've got a few good chess books I've barely started and that's been, so far, enough to keep me from doing it.

How can i get a free trial?

By not spamming the same thing multiple times tongue.png

Open a ticket. Maybe they will give you one. Or you can do what I suggested earlier.

I once got offered a free 10-day membership.  I didn't take it quickly enough, and it was no longer available when I tried to take it.

I later got given a free 10-day membership for figuring out exactly what was causing the problem I was having with v3 (it was a conflict with one of my browser extensions blocking something that v3 was using for its bug report tool).

Diamond: Videos are the only reason to get diamond.

Platinum is decent if you want to do a ****-load of tactics per day + tourney priveleges.

Gold (worthless; shhhh)

Supporting chess.com is not overpriced :) I hope all the free members enjoy their excellent free content.

Gold doesn't seem worthless at all, I don't have time to do 25 tactics per day and 5 lessons is pretty nice, and all for a couple bucks a month. Seems like solid value here.

Greetings --

I need a link to buy a membership gift --

But--

When I click gift in the member's homepage I only have the option to buy a Diamond one.

Thanks!

I just clicked on the link next to your name and had all options.

Maybe it doesn't work because you don't have a country.

You could try becoming a US member for a bit and see if it matters.

To answer the initial inquiry, I have been offered a free trial several times and have been a member for only a few months. It's like those "limited time offers" you see on TV. They are limited until the next time they are offered, which is usually soon.

almost everything you get from premium membership is available on internet for free.. like softwares for analyzing and for this and that.. its all in one here thats all. but there is one thing you 'cant' get without premium and that is tournaments.. you can join only 1 tournameny per day without premium. if you are tournament type guy than you should really consider premium

Some of it you can get elsewhere for free, but it's nicely organised in one place here.  But there are other features - puzzle rush, for example - that are chess.com exclusives.

Lessons.  All those "attack like Bobby Fischer" etc lessons advertised by certain sites are useless to most players beginners to intermediate.   They are all marketing and fireworks.  The lessons here at least are a solid path from complete beginner to intermediate.  if they bring the old lessons back, even better.
