Premove on Android

Hey everyone, just switched from the iPhone to an Android and am having problems with the premove in live chess.
When I try to make a premove to recapture my own piece (in anticipation of an opponent taking my piece) it just selects my other piece.
Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? (besides go back to the iPhone haha)
