I suppose there is no premove available for non-paying members? Playing chess on this site is kinda hard ...

Sure there is. Find the settings and enable it.

Premove: Make pre-moves before your opponent's reply

What are premoves and how do they work?

Premoves are moves you can make before it's your turn - while your opponent is still thinking!

For example, let's say you would like to castle on the next move no matter what move is played by your opponent.  Then why wait?  You can make the castling move on your opponent's turn and it will be played instantly1 after any move2 your opponent plays.

1 Well, almost instantly - premoves have been implemented so that they consume 0.1 seconds of your remaining time.

2 Well, almost any move - if your opponent's move makes your premove illegal (such as putting your king in check in the castling example above), then you will have to think of something else!

How many premoves can I make in advance?

You can make up to five premoves on your opponent's turn. They will be played in the order you made them, subject to the limitations described above.

For example, if you are playing Black, at the beginning of a game you could premove g6, Bg7, b6.  The system will automatically play 1...g6, 2...Bg7, 3...b6 immediately after White plays their first three moves - so long as white does not put your King in check within those three moves (in which case the next premove would be rejected and you would have to deal with the threat to your King).

How do I enable the premove option?

You can enable the premove option on the "Play" tab of your Live Chess Settings...
