Profile Icons Are Not Showing

Some of my students have shared to me that their "own" profile icons and "friends" profile icons are no displaying only the default pawn image shows (I have verified this as well with them and seen what they are saying)

Also if they are playing someone the opponents icon does not come up during play either.

These students are in different cities, different systems, different browsers etc. 

However! I and the world can see theirs fine on my end. 

Today they have tried to reset image but it does not still show in their profile but does show in worlds view.

I cant figure this out? There has to be some reason especially when its happening to more then one student. And its kind of boring for them if they cant see images plus its faster to find friends this way as well upon playing chess.

I have done more than that I have reset the browser, as well tried various browsers

As far as I'm aware there's nothing that would cause that, short of maybe a slow connection or the device having some kind of security software that's blocking content

No security software however ... interesting you say slow connection ... while I think that should not be of issue ... I will check this as she does have or had as we fixed it ... but prior she did have very very slow connection caused by windows updates which I help the family fix ... ill let you know when i circle back on this ... be interesting if such was the case

All ... such is solved and we don't know how or why but all is visible now

P.S Per solved ... you know what ... as I forgot to add ... this student had a very very very slow system and (i am in IT as well) I found the issue ... so @Martin_Stahl shared thought about slow connection and it made sense to me as too much to load icon (yes i know just icons however her speed was 41 MB download - so very intense issue) that said I found problem was windows updates hanging and some update issues ... after that download was in gig's ... after to which icons pop again ... So check your speed on system ... do speed test ... many will say not however if you do not update windows those updates can hang your system like no other. Hope helps Again our problem solved. P.S if you system is updated then check router, make sure secured etc etc as I have work many open routers before unsecure and found the entire block sharing one person internet connection .
