Those are based on activity points.
- Participant 100
- Megaphone 1,000
- Chatterbox 10,000

Ultimately, yes, but you shouldn't just spread out your comments on multiple individual posts just to get points.
It was for the points system. Participant (1) Chatterbox (1000) and Megaphone (5000 I think).
I don't know about the megaphone because I haven't earned it.
