To clear up the things, tonydal's posts were indeed deleted by a chess.com administrator and not by him.

Well, that definitively answers the question of whether tonydal's posts were acceptable on chess.com.

Yes definitely acceptable, if you are thinking in lines of fluid mechanics.

WTF!Laughing

This phenomenon, common to chaos theory, is also known as sensitive dependence on initial conditions (opening moves in Chess). Just a small change in the initial conditions can drastically change the long-term behavior of a system. Such a small amount of difference in a measurement might be considered experimental noise, background noise, or an inaccuracy of the equipment. Such things are impossible to avoid in even the most isolated lab. With a starting number of 2, the final result can be entirely different from the same system with a starting value of 2.000001. It is simply impossible to achieve this level of accuracy - just try and measure something to the nearest millionth of an inch!

Wow, manavendra! Thanks for making no sense! If you ever do make sense, I'll be the first person to go to Chess.com and file a grievance on your behalf, against the imposter who would take your name and try to make sense! I've got your backWink

balgears

I would add in the positive catagory;  That you can play anyone in the world, even though,  you don't speak the same language or have the same culture.

I once read the following lines engraved on the tombstone of a chessplayer:

"I am not what I seem, I am nothing, but a dream. Now that I am gone and living no more, no longer feeling sorry for the things I couldn't do". Laughing

If you meant to say Professor, in symbolic form as a Lighthouse in a turbulent ocean, then you are absolutely wrong.

trysts

Of course not, manavendra. I meant to say you're a Professor in silly form as in, aardvarks making love to chickens...

Did you used a Love calculator or something similar kind of device to reach this conclusion...

Though a bizarre question, I'm going to say, for you, this is a good question, manavendra. I used the zoological calculator, as I knew I was speaking with someone who has transcended human truths...

manavendra

LOL.. or the One who flew over the cuckoo's nest.

Pros of chess
Chess permits precise analytical thinking (though for practical purposes, mostly there is some intuition in deciding which lines to go for)

What would you add or change to these lists?

What kind of intuition are you refering to? For all practical purposes, intuition is just a subconscious intelligent guess by being objective about the reality of the position otb.
