I just dont get I mean I really literally everyone else at my club has caused a upset one time or another in tournament play some minor like beating someone a class above them and some huge like the only girl beating the resident expert (over 500pts above her) all of them except me. I've managed to DRAW players stronger than me a number of times but I can never seem to beat them I know I know "Well they are higher rated than you" I get but come on NEVER beating anyone even just a class above me !! drawing but never actually beating ! It just seems weird and im wondering if its something psychological that I need help with so anyone out there know what im going thru and how to get over it.

It seems like you are a stronger player than me, but I once read that you should treat all your opponents (weaker or stronger) the same.

It could be something deep rooted from when you first played someone a class or more above you like was it a game were you were winning but messed up a bit and it ended drawn or was it a game you were winning and you ended up losing and was the next game agaisnt a higher rated player just a overwhelming loss for you and was this all in one tournament. I'm not saying any of this happend but if it did then maybe you've over time just from a really really bad experiance with a stronger player you've subconsiously build some deep fear against them. Do you find yourself shaky or suddenly having to use the restroom just sitting across from someone higher rated than you cause those could be signs.

P.S. have you tried NOT looking at there rating before hand that could help.
