From your puzzle stats. it looked like you often spend over a minute looking for the solution to a tactic that you know is in the position. Would you spend this much time in a 10 minute game looking for a tactic that may not be in the position? That might tell you whether you should play longer games if you want to benefit from your tactical skills.

I guess that this is on point.

My puzzle rating is 2100+ but blitz rating is only 900.

I don't think puzzle rating is an accurate indication of how a person does.  puzzle rating determines how well you win a piece or checkmate, but it doesn't prevent you from dropping pieces or misplaying a position.

I just hit 2938 puzzle rating. How come I can't beat Magnus Carlsen? Why aren't I ranked #1 in the world? /s

I mean I’m 1800 in puzzles and 700 rapid so there is usually a bit difference lol

I think you just need to play more? I reckon you should be at least a 1000 rapid player.

🤷‍♂️ I can’t beat 1000 rated players lol. They beat me hard. I can barely beat people in my own rating category. I think it’s just that puzzle is usually a lot higher than other categories. But you are right about me not playing much I have not been playing consistently for awhile now

I would loose to a 1700 in less than 20 moves 😂

Puzzles are very easy to get a high rating on.

It’s funny and different for many players. In my case, tactics and middle game planning are my weaknesses, therefore the rated puzzles help my game.

I am solid and in most cases equal out of the opening but middle game strategy and critical moves are areas I am working on now.

Have fun and keep improving in any areas of chess where you can. Best of luck.

I don’t think I can properly apply tactics to my games yet. I think in puzzles I actively look for the tactics, but in games I don’t. The puzzles don’t really help yet for me, not until I can apply them. I mainly do them because they’re fun. To me, they are more fun than the games. Best of luck to you too!

Puzzle ratings look to be effectively unbounded. I think the top rating is something over 65 000.

Username vskopalik rating 65535 at 1225GMT 11/1/2021.

I'm pretty sure that's at least 500 pts higher than their rapid rating.

It's interesting that 65535 is the largest integer that can be stored in a 16-bit number. If you "add" 1 more to it, it'll overflow and yield (the negative) -65536. So I'll bet 65535 is really the maximum possible rating.
