puzzle speed

How often do you meet the target time on Chess.com puzzles? I NEVER do, so I usually get just 5 points for a correct solution. I’m 79, that may have something to do with it.

Even if you solve it in a second you still get 5 points, because chess.com has invented an idiot system where you get 5 points for solving a puzzle and you can lose 20-30 points for making 1 mistake in a puzzle.

I'm 62 and place emphasis on learning and not speed. I would rather learn than be fast for the sake of "points".

That's not correct. Here's my last 6 from yesterday, on Extra Hard

How much of a rating change is going to depend on the puzzle rating (backend ratings not what's in the UI) compared to your rating and the time to solve.

I didn't lose more than 17 in any of my last 25 puzzles based on my ratings

Do you recommend me select hard or extra hard

Extra Hard is likely going to give the closest experience to the old algorithm, though your experience may differ depending on the difference between your average game ratings and puzzle rating

When was the old algorithm changed?

For most members, a few months ago I believe.

So this year?

How does the algorithm behave if my average game rating is too old or its RD too high? I practically don't play games on Chess.com, just puzzles.

I'm not exactly sure. I believe it's meant to be closer to your rapid/blitz ratings and will use old ratings.
