It's not the Puzzle System that needs improvement, it's the ratings. The way they work are, if you win games/puzzles you get points, & vice versa. The ratings should be based on skill and strategy, not how often you win.* A 10,000 rated player could lose to a 100 rated player 25 times in a row, if probability allows. As for the Puzzle System disregarding good moves, it's really either a matter of strategy/position, or it's the creators' faults. Puzzles are created by other people on chess.com in game analysis and those people decide on the correct moves, whether or not it's good or bad. So even if it's bad, you'll get your rating knocked down for playing a good move, because it's supposedly "incorrect."
So, yeah, the entire thing's kind of messed up. I'd just switch to lichess.
*But no offense to chess.com. They can't exactly monitor your strategy.
Hello chess users and moderators!
I have recently played a bunch of puzzles and I saw my rating increase from around 2700 to 3063 just to see the rating fall dramatically to 2855 again. Something doesn't seem right here. It's the same person who evolved to over 3000 and then lost so many points!
Even if I were to consider that I got tired it's still not okay for chess.com to disregard good moves and sanction them like the worst possible move! If there is a forced mate in 4 and I mate it in 5 it's not alright to say that I am completely wrong like if I didn't saw a mate or I even lost a piece instead. Also, why are all these puzzles timed? Give us at least an option not to play timed puzzles.
And... how is it possible to see in puzzle rankings even someone who has 60.000 elo but it is just a regular user, not a super GM or something. Does chess.com allow computer assistence for tactics?
Can anyone solve these issues, please?
