Puzzle Theme Order

Hi All,

I am solving puzzles on chess.com and found that I can select puzzles with certain themes to solve. I normally try to solve puzzles with themes I have failed to solve. Is there any benefit to studying these themes in a certain order that provides additional benefits to overall game play? Thanks in advance.

@sully2112, hi there!

The only ordering I'd use would be based on a ranking of what you miss. You could analyze yourself, use Game Review, or for accurate aggregate analysis, Insights to see what you miss the most and when.

In real game nobody will come to you and say “hey, now you have mate in three”. Thats why solving puzzles with random switching of themes is most usefull. If you fail to solve puzzle, you must study right solution until you are 100% sure you understand it. And ONLY THAN you solve next puzzle.

Great advice, thanks everyone.

Puzzles can be good for building up solved tactics and endgames you of course get them occasionally though puzzles don't teach you strategy or how to move your pieces (well)
