Is there anything different about the rated puzzles? I went from 2300 up to almost 3200 last night. It seems chess.com is dumbing down the positions, because they are too easy even for me.

Same for me, my puzzle rating skyrocketed in one day

Not sure what is happening either. Today, I noticed a drastic decrease in difficulty of the puzzles while I was around 2200-2300. I was getting often low 1000 or three digits puzzles instead of 1500 and up. Very few over 2000....

Are you all getting a lot more lower rating puzzles than expected?

They have been messing with the puzzles for a while now and the changes are always for the worse. I can hardly get a challenging problem anymore and they are just not fun.

The algorithm for puzzle difficulty should be easy with the difficulty rating of each puzzle constantly adjusted based on the respective ratings of the people who get it wrong and get it right.

Puzzles should be assigned within 250 points on either side of your current rating.

This website is run by a bunch of total idiots. Not sure I will renew my membership when it expires.

A new feature was implemented on rated puzzles. Now we can change the difficult level. Yes, chess.com dumped it down! Now, standard mode is too easy, so we have to set it up to hard or very hard if we want any challenge.

I saw players with 15 000, 20 000 and 25 000 in some clubs. Take a look around in the clubs and foruns. Things are getting

weird.

Switch the Difficulty setting to Extra Hard and it should be similar to what it was.

Settings > Gameplay > Puzzles on the website

Same here. I had fun and frustation just working and fighting to get a few points better just to see if I am improving a little. This just changed it to the point you can't tell anymore how you are doing or comparing to others. The scores have just become meaningless for me.

I switched to Hard and still find the puzzles challenging and seen to still get similar streaks of rating increases/decreases. Overall percentage is higher than normal but I only did 148 puzzles the day the difficulty feature released and probably a fifth of those was done testing on Standard

Does anyone know how much puzzles or time it takes for a new difficulty setting to kick in?

Today, I did 4-5 puzzles after switching to from Standard to Hard. I did not see any improvements on the difficulty level. Getting 400's rated puzzles while currently being at 1300-1350 (I tanked my rating on purpose from 2200's.). Will try Extra Hard tomorrow.
